A Message from His Grace Bishop Kyrillos on Giving Tuesday
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, one God, Amen.
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us”
The times of hardship and uncertainty of this year have illuminated what matters most in our lives: our families, our health, and most importantly, our faith. In the midst of these difficult circumstances, we have become acutely aware of our love for the church, particularly when we were unable to enter the house of God. We understand the precious value of our faith, for which our predecessors sacrificially labored, sparing no effort or life to uphold and preserve. Now is our time to continue spreading the faith. The changes we make today will certainly impact tomorrow. Among the ways you can facilitate the growth and advancement of the Orthodox Christian faith is by donating to the St Athanasius and St Cyril Theological School, the premier school of theology in the Coptic Orthodox Church in North America, on Giving Tuesday.
Following the example set before us of the ancient Alexandrian theological school of the third century, we are striving to spread the opportunities for pursuing the highest degree of formal education in the field of theology through ACTS. ACTS was established in Los Angeles, California by the hand of His HolinessPope Shenouda III of Blessed Memory in 1989. Since then, ACTS has grown and flourished under the watchful eye and dedicated support of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II and His Eminence Metropolitan Serapion.
We long to continue the vision of our beloved Pope Shenouda III of Blessed Memory, as well as the present efforts of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II. As we continue to grow to provide for the educational needs of our youth, servants, and clergy through various flexible and affordable pathways, we ask of your invaluable support through prayer, first and foremost, as well as your financial generosity, in order to sustain and promote the advancement of this institution.
As a non-profit organization, ACTS strives to keep tuition costs affordable to reduce barriers for those who wish to pursue an education in theology. ACTS is expanding at a swift pace, now offering 44 distributed courses for our ever-increasing number of students to choose from when completing one of our Certificate or two Master’s degree programs. But as our institution is rapidly growing, so are our financial needs. Your donations will help us provide student grants and scholarships, expand theological seminars and extracurricular programs such as ACTS Kids, and manage day-to-day expenses.
In order for us to continue growing and providing such opportunities, we must all work together to achieve this goal.
As Giving Tuesday approaches us this year, a time where we are asked to give to support a valuable cause, we asked that you consider ACTS among your generous donations. We greatly appreciate your contributions, and no contribution is considered too small, as even one or two dollars will project us forward in the growth of ACTS. To contribute, simply go online to actslibrary.org. You can also greatly help by sharing this video. To stay up to date on educational opportunities, new course offerings, and more, make sure to follow us on our social media accounts and sign up for our newsletter on our website. Thank you for your prayers and continued support.
May God grant you the heavenly reward, to Whom is due the glory forever, Amen.
In Christ,
Bishop Kyrillos
